Our Deepest Sympathies for Col. and Engr. Timoteo A. Cordova, Jr.

Engr. and Col. Timoteo A. Cordova Jr. was born on August 6, 1928. He was the second licensed Aeronautical Engineer in the Philippines. Engr. Cordova is a former member of the first Board of Aeronautical Engineering which was established in 1982 through P.D. 1570. Col. Cordova finished his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from FEATI University and became an instructor first with FEATI, then with PATTS College of Aeronautics and University of Perpetual Help in Las Pinas. In the Philippine Air Force, he was connected with the PAF Research & Development Center (AFRDC) where they designed and produced products and parts for local aircraft and utilization. Engr. Cordova was very active in the affairs of SAEP and one time served as its president. He was instrumental in the changing of the society’s name from “Aeronautical” to “Aerospace” as it encompasses both air and space. The establishment of the Board Examinations might be attributed mainly to his efforts and time. He did much to uplift the condition of the aeronautical engineering profession and put it on the map. The Society owes much to Engr. Cordova as one of its founding pillars. The whole aeronautical engineering profession expresses our profound sadness on the passing of Engr. and Col. Timoteo Cordova Jr. We salute you sir, and Godspeed…
